budget thinkpad options?
currently learning python, and thought itd be fun to get a thinkpad and learn linux while im at it. installed debian on a VM a while ago, but my main pc is kinda shitty and i could only dedicate 2 gigs of ram :/. budget is $400 max. thank you all :3
its up to me now, turn on the bright lights.

i've been rocking my T480S for a month or so, it's really nice! Sure, it has an 8th gen intel processor but you can easily find one for 300 or less, and with its 16GB of ram and its SSD you should be good to go!
I really like:
- USB-C
- quite portable, nice 14" size
- works well with linux, plus the community for it is big!
- repairable enough, from what I've heard
- SD, HDMI, RJ-45, headphone jack
- the iconic trackpoint
I dislike:
- Only two USB-A ports
- i didn't manage to make my fingerprint reader work with linux
