Might actually install linux I am so fucking sick of this shit

Post by Nightshade »

My laptop runs on Windows 11 (I fucking hate it the only difference that I can perceive is that the taskbar is centred and it looks so fucking bad who made that choice.) and it likes to do this thing where it won't even acknowledge that wifi exists. The router is in my parents' room but I can't spend hours job searching in their room just so that I can be connected via ethernet. I am fucking sick and tired of this bullshit. This is the straw on the camel's back I am so tempted to switch over. The only thing stopping me is that I am shit with technology and my parents won't help me with anything if it's not windows. They will straight up refuse. So if something fucks up I have no way of fixing it. I fucking hate it here.

If anyone has any tips that would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to deal with this shit.

If you want to switch over to linux, mint, debian and ubuntu are pretty user friendly. Mint is great if you are used to the windows environment. You can also downgrade to windows 10. You can find repos on github that have copies of windows 10 government edition which is a bare bones version of windows. No trackers, no useless apps, no bloat. Downside to de bloated windows 10 is that you might have to watch some tutorials but none of them should prove to be out of reach if you are someone who is not great with tech.

i havent watched this, so i cant speak on its quality but it seems like a well rounded tutorial.

my computers:
laptop: thinkpad t470s - debian [main]
desktop: windows 10 + WSL
