Sometimes you really just need complete isolation from from your powerline. Regular isolation transformers are great and all but unless they're medical grade the ground is bonded to the secondary's neutral. Even if using a medical grade transformer you're still not isolated from your powerline because earth ground is bonded to the neutral at your breaker box. So why not have a 1:1 transformer with a center tapped secondary?

Going off the Canadian and American electrical codes this would be illegal for permanent install but it doesn't seem to be illegal for non-installation use
